Christine Aguila teaches composition,
literature, and creative writing at Truman College, City Colleges of Chicago.
In 2000, she received her Master's degree in English from Northeastern Illinois
University, where she taught developmental writing and freshman composition.
Ms. Aguila has done research on Mark Twain's Satan Jr. character in
The Mysterious Stranger Manuscripts, which resulted in her MA thesis
entitled Mark Twain's Satan Jr.: A Devil-of-a-Trickster. Prior to her appointment at
Truman College in 2003, Ms. Aguila hosted a radio show called
Speaking about Literature for WZRD, was fiction editor for the literary
magazine The American Goat, organized open mike readings at various Chicago
venues, participated in literary programs held at the Chicago Cultural
Center, and worked as a media planner at Eisamen, Johns, & Laws Advertising
in Chicago.
Literature, writing, photography, and the textile arts are Christine Aguila's creative interests. Occasionally, she plays her fiddle, though only very occasionally lately. A native Chicagoan, Christine Aguila resides in the city with her husband. © Christine Aguila 2009 |
